LocationKriopigi

Kryopigi is a seaside village and you will meet it after Kallithea. It is built amphitheatrically on the hillside of a pine-covered hill with a wonderful view of the bay of Kassandra. The area has been inhabited since ancient times and today’s Kryopigi is located between the ancient cities of Neapoli and Aigi. The area has a remarkable tourist flow during the summer and at its center there are traditional old houses that coexist with large hotel facilities.

About two and a half kilometers west of Kryopigi, in the mountainous location of “Paliokastro”, a trace of Roman settlement, which belonged administratively to the Roman colony of Kassandria, has been marked, based on the surface pottery. The old name of the village until the 20th century was Pazarakia and is believed to be due to the fact that the Turks were there for the sale of the captive women and children. It was a small settlement of ten to fifteen houses. And from this small society came four captains who played the leading role in the Kassandrin fight against the Ottomans.

The excellent climate, the combination of verdant mountains and crystal clear sea (honored with many blue flags) along with top-level hospitality services, make Kriopigi the most remarkable resort in the region. The hotel units with more than a thousand rooms, as well as the organized camping site of EOT and the three hundred furnished apartments and rooms of the area offer a comfortable and pleasant stay and the possibility of a variety of activities (water sports, excursions, tennis, horseback riding, etc.).

The visitor can enjoy the high-quality natural products of the area such as honey, fruit, wine, olives and olive oil at the place of their production and visit the fountain, from which the village was named, which has existed for decades.
