Chavria (The River of Ormylia)

Chavrias, or the river of Ormylia, is the largest river in Halkidiki, and mainly stems from the mountainous volumes of Holomontas and Stratonikos, north and Kakavos, crosses calmly central Chalkidiki and flows into the Toroneos Gulf.

Considering the main source of Chavria in the area called ‘Pivvitsa’ of Neochori, it can be estimated that the total length of the river is 59 km. It is a river with rich vegetation in its ditches and with wonderful places for walking, hiking and cycling.
