Ammouliani is an island in the bay of Mount Athos, opposite Tripiti. It is the only inhabited island in Chalkidiki. It has an area of ​​about 4.5 square kilometers and is 120 kilometers from Thessaloniki. Previously he was the Deputy of the Vatopedi Monastery, and after 1925 he became the place of refugees from Asia Minor. Today it administratively belongs to the Municipality of Aristotle and has about five hundred permanent residents, engaged in fishing and tourism.

The main church of Saint Nicholas was built in 1865. St. George is celebrated each year in April. Some of the beaches of the island are Alykes, Karagatsia, Agios Georgios and Megali Ammos. Sightseeing, besides the old temple, is the arsanas at the harbor, which is a typical example of Mount Athos architecture. The island is connected by ferry from the coast of Trypiti (120 km from Thessaloniki) and the distance is only 2 nautical miles.
