Nea Silata is a semi-mountainous village in the Prefecture of Chalkidiki and the municipal district of the Municipality of Nea Propontida. Its location is in the eastern part of Nea Gonia. The Nea Silata Municipal District includes Nea Silata, Rodokipos at an altitude of 165m. and Sozopol.

Nea Silata is a refugee village. Its inhabitants are mainly Thracian locals and Cappadocians who have come refugees. A picturesque village with stable residential development in recent years due to the short distance from Thessaloniki, the services offered by the area as well as the friendly inhabitants. The church of the village is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin and to the 12 Apostles.

Between Nea Gonia and Nea Silata there is a small hill-mountain settlement, Rodokipos (48 inhabitants), with its well preserved traditional color, with stone houses that are partially re-built and re-used. Refugees were settled in Rodokipos after the Asia Minor catastrophe in 1922, most of which came from Gulbapse. According to the Refugee Rehabilitation Committee in 1928, 27 refugee families were settled in Rodokipos. The name of the settlement before the establishment of the Asia Minor refugees was Senelli or Selle. Immediately afterwards the name of the settlement changes, in Rodokipos, by the translation of Gulbahce gul = rodo, bahce = garden.
