LocationChalkidiki

Halkidiki since ancient times produced famous wines, with testimonies dating back to the 5th century. B.C. Nowadays the vineyards are grown in central Chalkidiki, Sithonia and Mount Athos. On the sunny slopes of Mount Meliton, the dry-warm climate and the beneficial humidity of the Aegean Sea favor the production of fine wines. On the other hand, in almost all Mount Athos monasteries there is a long tradition in the art of viticulture and wine production, and in their vineyards with mild climate, sundown sunshine, mountain dew and sea breeze, today a wide range of grapes is grown. In central Halkidiki, the vineyards stretch in low hills and adjoin the sea, which balances with its aura at the extreme summer temperatures.
