The area Skamni on Mount Stratoniko, Chalkidiki, is a “Community Protection Site” of the NATURA 2000 network with code GR1270005. The mountain is located in the area of Arnaia and Stagira, and its protected area covers 79,280 acres. In Strebenik, as well as the term is known, there are different types of vegetation. Among the trees that grow on the mountain are beech, oak and chestnut trees. Typical features are the dense forests of the area and the absence of crops and residential areas. In this environment, appropriate conditions are created for the reproduction of birds of prey. The hazards of the Stratonian environment include forestry, hunting and the operation of nearby mines.
