Having spent the third decade of his life, since 1993, the Cassandra Festival is one of the most important cultural institutions in Northern Greece. The Cassandra Festival lasts from the beginning of July until almost the end of August, is a summer oasis combining for the thousands of its visitors the holidays and rest with Art and Culture.
All major events take place at the Amphitheater of Siviri while dozens of other parallel events (visual interventions, happenings, artistic events, etc.) take place in all the local districts of the municipality of Kassandra so that residents and visitors of Halkidiki can watch and participate free of charge.
In the long run, the Festival has hosted great names both Greek and international such as RayCharles, JoanBaez, B.B. King, James Brown, DiamandaGallas, GoranBrejovic, JanGarbarek, CesariaEvora, Mikis Theodorakis, Moutsis, Stavros Xarhakos, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Dionisis Savvopoulos, Dimitra Galani, Maria Farantouri, Giorgos Dalaras, Alkisti Protopsalti, Costas Makedonas, Vassilis Papakonstantinou, Nikos Portokaloglou, Costas Chatzi, Stamatis Spanoudakis and many others.
Τop theater plays such as the National Theater, the NTUA, the Art Theater, the National Opera and the biggest theaters, with remarkable performances and actors such as Giorgos Kimoulis, Dimitris Aronis, Thimios Karakatsanis, George Konstantinou, Petros Filippidis, Vasilis Tsivilikas, Yiannis Besos, Costas Voutsas Mrs lends their glamor to the institution every year.
