LocationArnaia

At the center of the historical web of Arnaia are the “Alexandros Houses”. It consist of a complex of two buildings. 1. The first building is a two-storey building from 1812, characterized as a preservable and an important example of Arnaia’s traditional architecture. In the past for many years it has functioned as a hostel. After the exemplary restoration by the architects-owners Vasilis and Dimitris Alexandrou, the functional adaptation of the building to the requirements of a modern guesthouse for all seasons of the year was ensured, without compromising the authentic traditional architectural elements. On the ground floor there is a comfortable waiting room-living room with fireplace, while in the same place one can enjoy traditional breakfast and deliciously cooked homemade dishes. On the first floor there is a large communal living room with a sitting area. 2. The second building is a two-storey building with a basement, built in 1924, characterized as traditional with neoclassical elements, which has been restored exemplarily. There is also a communal semi-open area with a fireplace and an old oven for use in the living room. In many spaces there are painted decorations and ornate ceilings, while all the equipment is made up of old furniture, lamps and objects selected with great taste from all over Greece.
