Palaiochora or Paleochora is a village of the municipality of Polygyros. It is located in B.A. of the Prefecture of Chalkidiki at the foot of Mount Holomontas, on the main road axis of Thessaloniki – Mount Athos, and it is approximately 57 km from Thessaloniki and 18 km from Polygyros. The village occupies a traditionally prominent position in livestock production and processing of livestock products.
The visitor can also visit the Holomontas Environmental Information Center, which provides information on the valuable flora and fauna of the area. The village houses are built very close to each other with small courtyards and uphill alleys. In the home of the folklorist and teacher Dimitrios Tsiotra works a permanent folklore exhibition.
